GROUP 2: Grafton road trip do or die for Seahorses

GROUP 2: It's a do-or-die clash for the Woolgoolga Seahorses who are looking to keep their finals hopes alive this weekend, but they will have to do it the hard way when they take on a Grafton Ghosts side that is keen to finish its season on a winning note.

A win is not guaranteed for the second-placed Ghosts, and captain-coach Ben McLennan said his side was ready for another tough encounter.

"I personally think they're one of the best teams we've played all year," he said.

"They've got a complete side right across the park and they'll be tough to beat, especially when they need the win to keep their season alive."

Woolgoolga sit on 18 points, equal with Sawtell and Nambucca Heads. Captain Clark Webb said his side had been training well in the lead-up to this weekend's match.

"The boys are really looking forward to this game, and I'm pretty lucky with the players because they're ready to do the extra things at training to get ready for the game," he said.

"I think any time you're challenged you're looking forward to playing these good sides, and our boys really like the challenge."

Webb said he was pleased with his team's 44-14 win over Nambucca Heads last weekend, and was looking to build upon the improved performance by maintaining possession after scoring points and building pressure through discipline.

McLennan said with Todd Cameron out through injury, Jayden Connors would play hooker and Jake Frame would slot into halfback.

"Obviously it's not the same as having Toddy there, so Jayden has got some big shoes to fill, but he is up to the task I think," he said.

"People have said it's a nothing game, but I don't see it that way. I don't want to go into the finals after a loss."
