Woolgoolga Seahorses swimming in Group 2 next year
RUGBY LEAGUE: After pulling out of Group 2 early last season, the Woolgoolga Seahorses will be back in action in 2016 following the appointment of a new board.
Gavin Hann, former first grade coach and president of Moree, takes the reins as president.
His senior assistant is Matt Donovan, one of the local game's best known personalities, with Paul Larkin back as junior vice-president.
Life member Paul Dwyer will continue as secretary and senior administrator, while new face Sian Watson is controlling finances as treasurer.
The new president said he is ripping and raring to get into the new season after local league player Clark Webb jumped on board as first grade captain-coach.
"I have only been in the area for a couple of years, but I just did not want to see the club fold," Hann said. "I played my football at Moree, I coached reserves and A-Grade there, and I was president of the Moree club.
"So I know what it takes and I know there is a lot of work, but it is all coming together really well."
Hann said the club will play in all three grades next year with players already lined up for the club.
"We have had a few guys who went to other clubs this year who will be back," he said. "If there are any other interested players who want to pull on the jumper for Woopi get in touch with us."
