Evermore find themselves on Coast

IT started with a pilgrimage of sorts - a search to rediscover just who Evermore was and what their sound was.

The result is the New Zealand band of brothers' fourth album, Follow the Sun - an album conceived from visits to all corners of the globe.

"It's really given the album a flavour," band member Jon Hume said of their travels.

Pete Hume added: "It was interesting travelling to these different places and jamming with the locals and really discovering and working out what our sound would be.

"Seeing other things helped us figure out who we are and where we fit into music."

Still travelling, this time more locally, the boys were on the Sunshine Coast yesterday as part of the promotional tour for their new single, the title track from their coming album.

Noticeably missing was youngest brother Dann, who has decided to opt out of touring in order to concentrate on producing records.

He recently worked with Australian Idol 2006 favourite Lisa Mitchell on her new album. The shows will take on an interesting dynamic without him but both Jon and Pete aren't worried.

"We've got a session drummer so it won't be a duo. That would be a bit difficult," Pete said with a laugh.

Follow The Sun will be released on October 12 and Evermore will play The Zoo in Brisbane tonight.
