Toned and taut yummy mummy wins Maxine’s Shape Up Challenge
THIS Marian woman lost 14kg and toned her body in about three months, but not once did she starve herself.
"I didn't go hungry," mother of two Yolande Mitchell said.
"A lot of people think you need to starve yourself, but it's absolutely far from the truth."
She changed her diet to one full of "clean eating" including chicken, eggs, vegetables and salads without sauces and gave up alcohol.
Ms Mitchell also exercised for about an hour a day, including boot camp classes, gym classes, walking and swimming.
It led her to the winner's podium in this year's Maxine's Shape Up Challenge, which wasn't for the person who lost the most weight, but for the person in Australia who had best body transformation.
"When they announced I won I started dancing up and down, it was amazing. All I've done is lost weight and gained muscle and got my life back, which is amazing. I've been rewarded in so many different ways."
Weighing in at 77kg, Ms Mitchell said she saw Maxine's TV show and an ad about the Shape Up Challenge.
"The whole time I just really wanted it. I've never really stuck to something like that before."
