Young comes of age in innings-saving knock

HARWOOD Hilton's Matt Young is not usually the first name people think of when it comes to predicting the team's top scorers, but his 90-run knock against South Services could not have been better timed.

Young strode to the crease with his team reeling at 5-92. He then teamed with noted run-scorer Mark Ensbey to steer Harwood out of trouble.

Harwood finished at 283 after Young and Ensbey produced a 94-run partnership before Ensbey was dismissed by Adam Spies for 50.

Luke Many chipped in with a vital 37 down the order, while Tim McMahon reached double figures for the first time since the 2011/12 grand final.
