Young man in critical care after fall from moving ute

A MAN is in a critical condition following a fall from a moving vehicle in Wooli.

About 10.30pm on Saturday night, the 18-year-old man and his two friends left One Tree beach in a ute.

The 18-year-old man was travelling in the tray of the ute with his two friends in the cabin.

While travelling along Williams Cres, the man fell out of the back of the ute.

The driver stopped and emergency services were called to the scene.

The man was taken to Grafton Base Hospital with head injuries and later transferred to Gold Coast Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Investigations into the incident are continuing. At this stage, speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the incident.
