Young woman bashed to death in Brisbane CBD

A YOUNG woman whose body was found in a Brisbane CBD park at the weekend was likely bashed to death, according to police.

Police are yet to formally identify the young woman whose body was found in Wickham Park, off Albert Street, in the CBD about 4.30am on Sunday.

She had suffered severe head injuries, according to police who are treating the death as a murder.

Large pools of blood could be seen on the footpath on Albert Street on Sunday morning.

It is believed the woman, aged in her 20s, had only recently moved to Brisbane from Asia and was walking to work from her inner-city home when she was attacked about 3.30am on Sunday.
