"You're like a VIP. It's a unique opportunity. So amazing."
THEIR reign might only be halfway through, but Laura Hall and Madeleine Vidler are already getting ready to hand the tiara over to the next Junior Jacaranda Queen and Princess.
Nominations are now open for the Junior Jacaranda Queen, and Ms Vidler said it was a great experience.
"It boosts your confidence and you get to practice your public speaking, and you get to know the community more and meet a lot of different and interesting people," she said.
"It's something that other girls should definitely consider being a part of."
Ms Hall said being a Junior Jacaranda Queen was something she had always wanted to be.
"I went to one of the Jacaranda Committee's lunches and got to see what they do, and it looked like fun so I decided to enter," she said.
"Being a Junior Jacaranda Queen or Princess, it gives you a different perspective, and you get to be a part of the behind-the-scenes of the festival. It's really cool, because you get to experience a heap of different things, you're like a VIP. It's a unique opportunity, and so amazing."
Ms Hall said the highlight of her time as Junior Queen was being a part of the floats in the festival's parade.
"I really loved it, they were so amazing because you got to take in everything and see everyone," she said.
"When you see the little kids waving, you could just see they looked up to you, and everyone looked so happy."
Ms Vidler said taking part in the Jacaranda Ball, and dressing up in beautiful gowns, was her favourite part of the experience.
Their advice to hopeful Junior Jacaranda Queens is to be confident and have fun.
"Don't doubt yourself," Ms Vidler said.
"Try not to think of it as a competition, it's about having fun with your friends so be yourself and enjoy it."
