Youth, 17, on assault charge

A 17-YEAR-OLD youth has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm after an alleged rock throwing incident in South Grafton last weekend.

Police claim the youth threw a rock at the car of a 55-year-old man in Bent St, about 1am last Saturday.

They said the driver stopped his car and confronted the young man before a “physical altercation” ensued. The driver was left with facial injuries after the incident.

Police arrested the youth on Thursday and charged him.

Inspector Murray Gillett said the youth was likely to also face other charges.
