Zillman to give Gold Coast some zing on return

DEFENCE has been the cornerstone to the Gold Coast sharing top spot on the NRL ladder.

But with the return of fleet-footed backline utility William Zillman tomorrow its attack will have much more zing against Souths at Cbus Super Stadium.

Zillman (pictured), though, won't return from his nagging hamstring in his preferred position at fullback which teammate David Mead has locked up in his absence since being moved from the wing.

Mead has not only made it difficult for Zillman - named in the centres - to reclaim his No.1 jumper, but has also put his name up in front of NSW Origin selectors and Blues coach Laurie Daley for the first game of the series in Brisbane later this month.

Titans coach John Cartwright had still not confirmed his starting halves yesterday with Albert Kelly (leg) and Aidan Sezer (ankle) not officially cleared.

Sezer is considered to be the most doubtful of the pair.
