The north coast’s biggest coordinated garage sale day of the year is on once again on Saturday 23 September. With over 1000 garage sales as part of last year’s event, Second Hand Saturday is set to be bigger and better than ever with hundreds of second hand shoppers looking for a bargain across Ballina, Byron, Clarence Valley, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Tweed council areas.
It’s free to register to hold a garage sale. Register now at www.secondhandsaturday.com.au or by phoning your local Council and your garage sale will be advertised and promoted for free. An optional ‘leftovers’ day will also be held on Saturday 30 September so you have double the chance to sell your stuff.
With millions of tonnes of waste being sent to landfill by Australian households each year, holding a garage sale is about much more than just clearing the clutter and earning extra cash or fundraising for your club. It’s a great way to join the war on waste and help reduce landfill by giving people the chance to reuse and recycle your pre-loved goods.
Keep up to date by following Second Hand Saturday on Facebook. Choose to reuse – it’s how we roll on the north coast! For enquiries email firstname.lastname@example.org.
